Hello brethren, I will summarizing on what I learnt from the teachings of Brother Eli on our MASS INDOCTRINATION DAY 1 held on zoom.
It talks about baptism as it is the former way of joining the church as those who received the word were added daily as they were baptized.
It's only when you receive the doctrine of the Bible that's when you can be baptized and saved. For the Bible says that God built the church for us so that we should not reject it and for all men to join the church of Christ.
When we receive Christ, we are actually receiving the teachings of Christ and also he's word According to the book of romans 12:9"let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
If we are going to listen to the doctrine, we should listen to Christ and we shouldn't let Buddha teach us.
Jesus Christ is the only teacher appointed by the father to teach the doctrine to all men as we see it from the book of mark 7:7-8"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: verse 8 " for everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
It is evil to leave the commandments of God and hold unto the commandments of men. For if we tend to hold unto the commandments of men, we will lose everything that Christ has promised us.
The first doctrine of the Lord Jesus Christ is baptism as we see in the book of 1 Corinthians 14:37" if any man think himself to be a problem or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are commandments of the Lord.
We should not accept any thing that is not written in the Bible as we see in the book of Galatians 1:23" for ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it.
We can wash away our sins through the baptism of Christ and also calling on the name of the Lord.
The first thing we should observe as a Christian is baptism after receiving the word of God. For Christ himself taught about the church and we can't say we only know Christ and not the church. When we talk about receiving Christ, we also talk about receiving the word and also the doctrine of Christ and also the church..
