You can pray in any position whether lying down, standing up.
Prayer is a communication between you and God.
The Bible says in Matthew 6:7-8 that but when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathens do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
In verse 8 of Matthew 6 says Be not ye like unto them, for your heavenly father knoweth what things ye have need of before ye ask him
This means before we pray God knows what we want to ask.
This means that the prayer of a sinner is an abomination to God. Therefore we need to be holy so that our prayer will be accepted.
How should a Christian pray
1.One way for our prayer to be acceptable in the site of God is not in doing high service like going on the street so that people can see you praying
Note prayer is a private matter between us and God.
we should shut the door and windows, we should not be an hypocrite.
Matthew 6 :5-6.
2.You should pray kneeling down according to Acts 20:36
Even our Lord Jesus Christ when HE prayed in Gethsemane,he fell on his face and prayed this is the same thing the apostles did when they prayed.
3.1Cor.11:4-7 admonishes us that when we pray it is a sign of disrespect for a man to cover his head while a woman opens her head.
