Firstly i thank God for making it possible for me to be part of today's Mass, honestly it was awesome.
Lesson Gained: Today our brother, brother eli started by encouraging us to strive for life eternal. 2corin4:15-18kjv: "For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal".
After which he made me understand that they are two kinds of being in man:
- The outward being
- The inward being
He stated that some men have a manly outward being and their inward man are like beast, that their inward man is filled with evil .Matt 7:15kjv: " Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves".
Then they are men with a good outward man and also with a good inward man. And those are the true children of God.
HOW DO WE DISCERN OUR INWARD BEING:
Brother eli made me understand that those with a good inward being are those who have delight in the law of God. Those who are ready to obey the commandment of God at all time. Rom 7:22kjv: "For I delight in the law of God after the inward man", Psalms 40:8kjv: "I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart".
While those with an inward man of beast are those who delights in doing evil, those who do not keep Gods commandment. Jere 6:16kjv: " Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein", John 3:19kjv: " And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil".
Brother eli also said that this discernment is through constant examination of ourselves.
That we should constantly examine ourselves according to the word of God. 2corin 13:5kjv: "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?".
He also went on to say that as christian we should not only improve our outward man but we should also strive to grow our inward man continually according to the law of God. 1peter 3:3kjv: "Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel".
He also said the consequences of only adorning our outward man is Pride which will lead to us forgetting our Lord God. Hosea 2:13kjv: "And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim, wherein she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forget me, saith the Lord".
And when we forget God because we are trying to make our outward man looking enticing He will definitely punish us. Isaiah 3:16-18kjv: "Moreover the Lord saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet: Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will discover their secret parts".
Therefore as christian, we should try to energize our inward man my constantly following the law of God, loving our neighbours and constantly doing good.
