Rom 2:4: Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
It is through God's goodness that we are been brought into repentance. So of a man has the desire to do good, his/her desire is through the work of God not through their power or willfulness.
Phil 2:13:For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
No man can do good except God works in him, for doing good started with our Lord God. Naturally every man desires earthly pleasure and things, they do not desire to seek God. So it is God who gives us the desire to sort and seek for Him, and also the will to do good.
I also understood that if a we as man really desire God, we should always set our eyes an all our mind on the things of God, not minding the circumstances that might seem to follow.
Colo 3:1: If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
So it is of great importance that we diligently desire to seek God and to do His will.
