Here is what I learnt from Brother Eli's teaching today, and you can watch his video through this link
I understood that when we submit ourselves to the righteousness of God, God will always hold up for us.
Matthew 6:33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
But when we try to go our own way and always try to justify our acts or lean on our own righteousness, God will distance Himself from our abode.
Luke 16:15: And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
Ephesians 6:6: Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart
Just like the thief on the cross with Jesus Christ, and the other thief on the left side, at first both reviled Christ but later on, the one on the right came to himself and so Jesus Christ for who He really was, knowing Jesus was not worthy of been crucified(though it was to fulfill prophecy). At that point he(the thief on the right) leaned totally on the righteousness of Christ, and through his faith, he was justified. And Christ seeing his honesty and sense of brokenness, told him " Today shalt thou be with me in paradise".
Luke 23:42-43: And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
