Good day y'all on today the 24th of April,2021 i am writing to respond to the above question.
Mainly they are two things that make God seem far away whenever we pray, they are :
- Praying in sin: sin is one of the major hindrance to our prayers that makes it not to be attended to by God. Isaiah 59:1-2kjv: "Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear".
- When we pray out of pattern: for our prayer to be heard by God will must pray accurately. James 4:3kjv: " Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts".
How do we pray out of pattern:
a. Not praying a heartfelt prayer. James 5:16kjv: ": "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." The effectual can be likened to heartfelt because a prayer cannot be effective if it is not heartfelt.
b. Not praying in the name of Jesus Christ. John16:23 kjv: "And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you", John14:13kjv: "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son". So if we don't pray in the name of Jesus Christ our pray we seem far from the Father because it will not be answered.
c. Not praying in accordance to Gods will. Isaiah 41:21kjv: "Produce your cause, saith the Lord; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob", Isaiah 43:26Nkjv: " Put me in remembrance; Let us contend together; State your case, that you may be acquitted".
As christian we are to note that when we pray with sin or out of pattern, our prayer will be far from the father.
