The thanksgiving service is always an interesting time to be in the house of God, because we are not just hearing the word only, but we are given enough time to praise our God both in psalms and hymns.
After which members from different parts of the world are being congratulated and honoured.
Some of the members were giving opportunity to explain what they learnt from the worship service that took place on Friday the 4th of June in their different time zones.
Before the word charge, we were giving another chance to worship God again, this is always one of the most important session and thanks to God here in the Church Of God we don't joke with singing psalms and hymns.
The word charge was for us Christians to be watchful and vigilant of the devil and his vices and that we shouldn't give room for the devil to take advantage of.
Ephesians 4:27
King James Version
27 Neither give place to the devil.
1 Peter 5:8-9
King James Version
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
Also we were also told to channel our anger into resisting the devil, and not to fall into sin with in.
Ephesians 4:26
King James Version
26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath.
Doing good is the commandment of God to every man, and we ought to do good according to the doctrine of God. We should not allow our live for God and humanity to get cold.
James 4:17
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Matthew 24:12
King James Version
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
1 Corinthians 13:13
King James Version
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Lastly I also learnt that it is only a humble heart that practices real love as commanded by God.
And we are encouraged to be humble.
God loves the humble.
Humility in this context is total submission to the things of God and also submission to the works of God both to His church and to humanity at large.
James 4:6
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
