It is necessary to we constantly get equipped in the sound doctrine of God and that is also relevant to us hearing the word of God. In today mass indoctrination, I learnt as usual as I always do and I am hear to share it with you guys what I was able to learn today.
What I learnt
Today I learnt what idols are. Growing up, I have always have different view and perspective about what idols are. I grew up hearing to different definitions about idols. Today I was able to learn what it really means as partaking to the scriptures. Idols are made of plastic, gold, silver and even men. They are worshipped by men and most of the time they take the place of God which should not be so as that is not what God commanded us to do.
Knowing and unknowingly, a lot of doctrines, churches and even believers are worshipping idols which they should not. Only God we should worship. I also learnt that only before God, we should knee down and Worship. If you are starting to knee down before wounds, irons and even humans, you are making them your idols and I also learnt that it is an abomination before God. This we should abstain from as
When we worship another thing instead of God, it is an abomination and we should run away from it. Anybody you bow down before and worship, if we serve the creature much more than the creator, then it is idolatry
It is abomination before God and I learnt today that those types of things God is not happy with. Worship of idols is abomination before God and we should desist from it before God strike us with His wrath's. I also learnt that most times we pray to the creature instead of the creator as that is what God does not want. I also learnt today that our God is a jealous God. He does not want his glory to be shared with anyone and that is why God hate idolatry. We should only worship the creator which is God.
The moment we start worshipping the creatures much more than the creator, then I learnt today that it is called idolatry. And this make me to remember my country Nigeria where they are a lot of shrine and a lot of people worshipping idols like Ogun, sango, osun rivers and many more. They are worshipping idols and God is not pleased with.
Another thing I learnt today is Christians are prohibited from eating food offered to idols. Any food offered to idols, a Christian should not be found eating them.
When we eat the food offered to idols or we even Worship them, it defile our conscious. It corrupt our spirits. It is not good to eat or drink what is offered to idols because it will defile our conscious. I also learnt that God will be angry against us. Once is offered to idols no matter the food, we should know that it becomes abomination. Idols are false gods. They are not real God. We only have one real God and its name is the creator of the universe.
