We stand it is not an event but is a lifelong commitment. What stands out is the emphasis on continuing the word of God that we have.
It is not me standing there. John 8 vs 31 makes it plain that discipleship is not proven by perseverance, not by those momentary beliefs or studies. This message is a little more than a tendency to measure our spirituality, but by the schedules, the programs, or the mind's tool like out-of-baptism.
Baptism is not the finish line, it's the beginning of our deeper responsibility, which is to observe, to live, and to do everything that Christ has commanded. As Matthew 38:19-20 teaches, instruction does not just stop at conversion, it continues until the end of our age.
The Word of God must become a constant. This teaching calls believers to maturity, to move beyond countenance and all time spent. Instead we should remain rooted in the word, nourished and transformed by the word daily, to this life-long learning, with the obedience and faithfulness we have in God.
