In my last post, I talked about how depression is becoming a major struggle that I believe needs to be dealt with. I strongly believe that addiction is actually part of the result of depression and which I will be talking about.
The truth is a whole lot of people are actually suffering addiction which can come in different forms like smoking, drinking and many more. For me I have come to discover that addiction start from the mind and the spirit. Through today Mcgi teachings, I was really able to learn a whole lot of things that my eyes was not opened to.
In 1 Corinthians 10:13, it says, “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful… He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” I remember many years ago, this is actually the particular verse I usually use to escape addiction. I will just remind myself that no matter what I am facing, God has actually made a way and it is left for me to find the way and escape.
When it comes to the issue of addiction, the first thing is for us to actually accept that we are battling with the problem. The issue why a lot of people are finding it hard to break free from addiction is the fact that they find it hard to accept that they are battling with it.
But when we humble ourselves, when we pray to God to deliver us as that is what I learnt in Mcgi, God is ever ready to deliver us from that addiction.
Not only that, we should always create what I called the accountabilities system. We should surround ourselves with people that can help us. People that can draw us close to God. People that can always offer a help for us. Because the more we draw to God, the more he is actually ready to help us out. The more we can lose out from addiction.
If you are reading this and you are feeling as if you can not be free from addiction, that is a big lie from the enemy. No matter what you are passing through as addiction, you can overcome it and regain your freedom. Your freedom is in Christ Jesus.
