In the old testament God warns the Israelites never to eat pork meat because pigs are seen as an animal that have an unclean spirit. This rule was part of the old law given to guide their way of life at that time.
But coming to the new testament Jesus teaches us that eating pork meat doesn't make us unclean, but what God checks is how clean is our heart, are we following the ten commandments.
Mark 7:18-19, Jesus said: “Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them.”
Today many Christians eat pork meat because of the teachings in the new testament. They believe what matters most is faith and a clean heart, not strict food rules. However, some people still choose not to eat pork based on personal or religious reasons.
