Exodus 20:12 “Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.”
Regaining the love of our parents begins with humility, respect, and sincere repentance when we have done wrong. The Bible teaches children to honor their father and mother, not only through words but also through actions and obedience. Even though the relationship becomes tough for us to let things go because of how the other person treated us, God told us to always let things go and we should forgive. A changed attitude and a loving heart can help rebuild trust and restore broken family bonds.
The Bible also teaches that love within the family should reflect kindness, understanding, and compassion. Parents may become hurt because of disobedience, harsh words, or distance, but healing is possible when there is honesty and genuine effort to make peace. Through prayer, good behavior, and consistent respect, children can gradually regain the affection and confidence of their parents. God values unity in the family and desires peace among loved ones.
