While sin brought devastation and separation from God, it also created the need for redemption and through that, the opportunity to experience the overwhelming love and grace of God.
Sin entered the world through the disobedience of Adam and Eve. That one act of rebellion fractured humanity's relationship with God and subjected us to spiritual death, making us, by nature, children of wrath, according to Ephesians 2:3. But God, in His great mercy, sent Jesus Christ to take our place.
On the cross, He bore our sin, defeated its power and opened the way for us to be reconciled to God. Because of Christ's sacrifice, we are no longer slaves to sin. We have been forgiven, redeemed and adopted as children of God. The devil has no legal access to us unless we willingly walk away from the grace we've been given.
How do we stay under God's grace and protection? By serving Him out of love, not merely for the benefits. When you genuinely love, serve Him, your faith will endure, even when tested by trials, pain or loss. Victory is not cheap. Without Christ's death, burial and resurrection, there would be no triumph over sin and darkness.
