Religion is the way people express their belief in and worship of God. From the beginning of time, humans have always had some form of religious practice some worshipped idols made of gold or wood, others looked to animals or nature. The bible made us to understand very clear that rituals or worshiping objects is not what defines a true religion , but your abilty to connect with a true God.
In James 1:26, the Bible warns that if someone claims to be religious but cannot control their tongue or their heart, their religion is worthless. That means religion is not just about what you do in public it's about how you behave when no one is watching.
“If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue… this man's religion is vain.” – James 1:26 (KJV)
Jesus also taught that true worship must come from the heart, not just from tradition. In John 4:23, He says God is looking for people who worship Him “in spirit and in truth.” That means your faith should be genuine, honest, and led by God’s Word not man-made rules.
“...true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth...” – John 4:23
(KJV)
True religion is more than a label it’s a lifestyle of love, truth, and obedience to God. Let’s make sure our worship is not empty, but pleasing to the God who sees our hearts.
May the name of the Lord be blessed
