God desires peace, love, and tranquillity rather than conflict between us. God pardons us for our transgressions. He anticipates that we would also pardon others for their own transgressions and failings. He provided a positive example for us to follow.
This should be how we model our lives, even though it can be challenging at times. It is not beneficial for us to not forgive. God taught that if we come before Him while harbouring animosity toward others, we should first go and resolve our problems before coming back to Him, which may be the reason why our prayers are occasionally impeded.
We are not following Jesus Christ in the proper manner if we do not provide forgiveness to others. In a sense, we don't care about people around the world because most of them don't think it's immoral to be unforgiving. However, it is completely flawed in the context of Christianity.
