I recall some tales my granny use to tell me about how our ancestors use to search for the true and only wise God, then they would try to describe God in their own ways and understanding coming up with names and description like God of the Sun, moon amd stars, creator of the universe, ruler of the earth...etc and many other names, they come up with this names or tittles describe how they knew God as one who made the universe we all came to see.
One time i heard a preacher say that after God created man he left a vacuum in a man's heart that only him can fill, so no matter what a man's quest is in life he will never be satisfied till he comes in contact with tge only true God who made him and the universe.
This is quite an interesting topic of discuss because God is everything in a man's life, now listen to this, Do you know that during creation everything God created or call forth came out of their source or habitation, a source is what sustain their life, its their environment if you take the fish out of it source which is the water it will die after some hours, so is every living thing, when it comes to man if you take man outside God man will die, because the source of every man is God, this is what God told Adam from the begining about dying if he eats the fruits because that will separate him from God, mind you this death is not spiritual death.
So from then Man as being searching for God so he can survive, fulfill his purpose on earth, without which man is nothing, recall Bro Eli's statement about moses lifting the rode up with that snake on it, so that whoever looks on it will live and not die, yah that was God trying to show man that there is salvation coming and to find a way back to God we must find him and if we do we will live...
That is why Jesus made that statement saying if i be lifted up i will draw all men to myself, there he was referring to what transpired in the wilderness with tge children of isreal back then, Bro Eli made this said that in Jesus time he was only confined in a location in the holy land so not many really knew about him, he knew this too
That is the reason why in john 14:16 Jesus made a promise to the disciple that he will send down another comforter, this one will be ominipresent everywere such that whoever comes in contact with this truth will have him live in them,
Thats the reason why Jesus also made this statement and commanding the disciples to teach all men what they have been taught so they too can have the comforter in them, this is how man can find his way back to God which is his source.
