Baptism - Mass Indoctrination Day 14 // 6th July, 2023

Thanks be to God for yet another opportunity to learn his words, below I will be sharing what I learnt from the meeting, may you be blessed as you read through in Jesus name. Amen!

Lessons

Baptism is part of the doctrines of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ every believer is supposed to partake in it. Our lord Jesus gave the commandment for his children to be baptized, He himself undergo baptism in the hand of John the Baptist. It is not something optional, it is command to all believers. (Titus 3:5, Acts 22:16)

There is a jurisdiction or a place for the commandments of God to be carried out. Just as there are different jurisdiction for different activities under the earth. Only those who are under Christ are bounded by whatever he commands, so whatever God commands has its jurisdiction and that jurisdiction is the house of God ( Ezra 7:23, Romans 3:19)

There is a way assigned for those who dwell in the house of God. Everything has a way it should be done, things are not just done without discipline and order . Believer have a laid down pattern for which they should operate and those patterns are found in the word of God. ( 1 Timothy 3:15)

Our lord Jesus teaches that baptism should be held in the name of the father, son and the holy spirit. It was said '' in'' referring to a location which is the name of the Lord. The bible made us understand that the name of the lord is a strong tower, a tower is a place. The name of the father is in his church. God choose his choose to put his name, therefore baptism should be held in his church and not out there in secular places. We can't just go anywhere and get baptized but in the place where God has sanctified and put his name. (Mathew 28:19, Acts 2:38 Ephesians 3:14, Deuteronomy 12:5, 2 chronicles 7:16)

The church of God was established by God according to his eternal purpose and it was made to revealed the manifold wisdom of the Father. Baptism is done in one body and by one spirit. In the church of God is both the father, the son and the holy spirit. Just as there are disciplines in our various houses, and those disciplines are only functional in our homes but of no effect in another man's house, There are also discipline in the church of God those disciplines. If we carry his laws to the secular world it would be disregard because that is not the jurisdiction. (Ephesians 3:10, 1 Corinthians 12:13)

There are enemies of God who takes God's name and use it in vain, the name of God must not be used vain by us. We ought to bestow honor and reverence to his name. We should not just under baptism. we ought to contemplate and check ourselves very well. Baptism is not something just done as other do.. it is sacred and we should honor it.
