It is indeed awesome in today's Bible study . I was indeed greatly blessed by the teaching and answers to questions given by Bro Eli Soriano.
Have these to share with us from the Bible study;
God is a respecter of nobody,
He does what He dims fit to do and it's always for our own good.
*Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
The period of John the Baptist marks the end of prophet and the law.
*Luke 16:16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.There is always an exception due to special consideration. Nobody has the right to question God over any issue.
The promise of the old testament differ from that of the new testament. mixing both is the right way of using the Bible. It is like saying using new clothes to make new clothe
- Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
*Matthew 9:16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
Talking of barrenness, we saw the mother of John the Baptist who was barren before and she later conceived. However, God can't be questioned. Mt 7:7-11, we should ask from God when our obedience is complete. There is a guarantee if we ask anything, He would give us. when we ask, then we have to move by faith. If we ask and it would be good for us to have it, it would it to you and if other wise,it may be delayed. God has a reason for the delay. take Abraham for example. God knows what is good for us and at the appropriate time.
*Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?Asking wrongly, would delay or deny us of our request.
*James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. No man questions God. He does what He wishes and He is perfect in all His ways. If you have nitobtained your request from God, you don't question God but to keep asking and at the appropriate time He would grant it.
- Romans 9:20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
- Llets agree with the will if God in our lives. He gave Zachariah a very good child, John the Baptist and Abraham, Isaac.
- Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
- The word "baptized only in the name of Jesus" is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible. In the book of Acts2:36-39. Peter told them this because of their ignorance.
*Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
- Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
- There is only one baptism in the Bible.
- Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
- Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
Apostle was referring to the very baptism taught them by Christ in Mt28:19.
- Baptism is act that is recommended once a believer understoods the teaching of christ. Baptism is answering to the call of divinity, while marriage is answering to the call of the flesh.
