It was another powerful day in the presence of God. Thank you God for using his servant Bro Elisoriano to teach us his doctrines, may his named be praised.
We continued from the teachings of yesterday, which is prayer, the bro Elisoriano said the topic is very broad and could not be covered in a single teaching.
We looked at the context of prayer
Prayer is one of the important things we engage on as a believer, it is suppose to be done properly, with humility and respect, for it is our means of communication with God.
Lesson learned
There are ways we should pray, which is acceptable by God.
Repetition of prayer is not good, God already know what we are about to say even before we say it, he is our creator, he already know our heart desires, we should always avoid vain repetitions of same prayer.
Prayer should not made like a story, it should come from your heart
We should not pray with the name of anybody except God, it your responsibility to pray for yourself, it is never obligated for anyone to pray on our behalf, this kind of prayer is common in Roman Catholic, they say Holy Mary pray for us, it is against the teaching and doctrines of God, Prayer is a request and not a story or what should be done by someone else which cannot be seen or is dead.
We should always give thanks to God in anything we do. Pray without ceasing 2Timothy 1:3. Don't pray when you are in need or in times of trouble, pray day and night.
Commit everything in God's hand, before you sleep pray, after waking up pray.
Prayer should be done with pure heart, flee from iniquity, fornication, lasciviousness, gambling and every form of immoralities. Our God is detest the prayer of a sinner, it is like a filthy rag in his sight, he is delighted in the prayer of the righteous and upright.
As a child of God we should always keep our heart clean from all evil and sin, and God will answer all our prayers.
Christians should watch what they say with their tongues, for it is the same tongue we use in praying to God, we should not use the mouth we use to pray to curse or say evil things. Watch and pray.
Whenever we are praying to God, we should first of all as for forgiveness first. We should acknowledge that we are not perfect and ask for forgiveness so that God will have mercy on us and forgive us our sins.
The word of God is powerful and should be taken seriously.
I believe brethren if will adhere to this teachings, the grace of God will dwell with us more abundantly in Jesus name Amen.
