Hello everyone, I thank God for the opportunity to listen to an educative program like this one.
My understanding and contribition of the topic: The church
The church of God is a holy tabernacle where God's children gather to praise his name, hear his word.
In our generation, the church has now become a jamboree party where everyone attends even the so called unbelievers are found in the church which is not supposed to be. They bring in different worldly trends into the church such as dressing half naked, wearing different inappropriate dress in the church.
My brethren all these I refer to as "other gods" doing all these simply means you are serving other gods which is not Christ Jesus.
Our God is a jealous God as he said we should not worship any other God beside him.
God does not segregate as he chooses whomever he wills and gives us the choice to chose between life and death, between serving him or the devil.
That's why people of different denomination, beliefs, religion still accept him and repent from their evil ways. As it is written in the bible, Jesus says 'I know my sheep and my sheep knows me, they hearken unto my voice when I call'.
Joining the church does not mean salvation. Being saved through Christ Jesus is different from being a church goer.
You can attend church everyday but have still not repented, therefore you remain an unbeliever. Let's not confuse the both as most people do not understand the word of God.
Naming of church do matter as most people name their church after them selves such as Jonathan's church, Jehova's witness and the rest.
God remains the founder of the church and as such the head. We should know that the church is the Church of God, Church of Christ.
We should all strive to be members of the body of Christ and not just church goers, as the bible says in the book of Luke 18:18
"And a certain ruler asked him, Good master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life", the only way we can achieve this is by Acknowledging Jesus as the saviour of our lives and giving our life to him by repenting and turning from our bad ways.
I pray that as we all do this we will not miss heaven .
