Hello!
I want to contribution to the Question: Why was Jesus Christ baptized despite being sinless? (Part 2 of 2)
Jesus Christ went to John for baptism, as we see in Matthew 3:13-15;
Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
Jesus Christ was baptized to give us steps to follow, as recorded in to 1 Peter 2:21;
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps
Jesus discomforted himself for the will of God to be fulfilled.
So Jesus was not baptized to cleanse his sins, but to fulfill all that was written concerning him and also to show us the path to toe.
