Here are the lessons i picked up from the Bible exposition on Zoom on the 15th of July 2021.
During the service bro Eli spoke on the importance of believing in God and trusting in His word, because if we don’t we wont want to love our neighbors.
A brother asked if it is good to receive gift from evil people; Bro Eli answered by referring to Ephesians 4:7-8 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.
8 This is why it says: “When he ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to his people.”
The word offering can be translated in Hebrew to mean both to give and to receive. This is what the verse is talking about when it says we should offer gifts to evil people. Cain was evil that’s why God rejected his offerings. So IMO, we should give gifts even to evil people but be mindful of what we receive.
Another point emphasized by brother Eli was the issue of translating the Bible. There is no Bible translation that is the exact truth because many words have been changed which would in turn alter the meaning of the word. The translation is the work of a minister because he needs to be patient and sort out the right translation to various scriptures so as to know what Bible to use. Nowadays, preachers don’t mind if they are using the wrong translation, they are lazy and instead use the wrong translation to extort money from their members because all they care about is to enrich their pockets.
For instance, most churches preach that Angel Micheal was the Son of God, this is a distortion of the truth.
I learnt also that the word Jehovah is not a name of God, because the letter J does not exist in the Hebrew language which was the original language used in writing the Holy Bible.
The doctrine of trinity that preaches that The 3 Godhead are all equal as most churches preach can’t be found in the Bible. They each have different qualities so how can you call them equal? They have distinct personalities as we can see in
John 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
In conclusion, we should try to observe and see if our pastors are making efforts in getting the right translation for the scripture by searching out things ourselves or simply by listening to what they say. It is important for a minister to search for the old translation so he can preach the original doctrine.
Thank you so much for reading through.
