The Bible reveals that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are distinct yet united in one divine nature what Christians refer to as the Trinity. They are not separate gods but three persons in one God.
Matthew 28:19, Jesus commands His disciples to baptize "in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit"
showing the unity and equal authority of the three. The Father is often seen as the source and initiator, the Son (Jesus) as the one who came in human form to redeem the world, and the Holy Spirit as the one who dwells in believers, guiding and empowering them.
Each person of the Trinity plays a different role, but they work in perfect harmony. For example, during Jesus' baptism in Matthew 3:16–17, the Son is baptized, the Spirit descends like a dove, and the Father speaks from heaven showing all three present and active at once. While they are different in role and person, they are not divided in essence or purpose. This divine mystery teaches believers about unity, cooperation, and the multifaceted nature of God’s love and presence in the world.
