The big question that we have heard from a whole lot of people is the fact that are we really financially responsible for other people's need. I have hear this question most of the time and for me I used to respond that as Christians, we are not only called to live our daily lives, we are also called to take care of others most especially when they are actually in need.
For me I believe these types of responses are not forced, it is earned from love and obedience to what God said in the bible.
The bible teach me and every Christians that we should actually help other people most especially when we are able to. In Galatians 6:2, it says, “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” whenever we see someone struggling, we should actually not ignore them.
If God have actually blessed us with something that we can use to help, we should actually help and willing to share. For me it might be little to me but when I give it out to someone, I discovered it is not really little to them.
Also, in 1 John 3:17, the Bible says, “But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?”.
Can you see that even the bible reminds us that true love is shown by our actions not really by what we say. It is not enough for us to show that we care for each other when we are not able to help one another.
Now let me create the balance before I round up. That we are actually financially responsible for other people does not mean that we should not pay attention to our own responsibility. Wisdom is actually profitable to direct.
