If I can point out to one of the most important lessons I have learnt on this earth, it is the fact that as a Christian, we are expected to do good and actually run away from evil. It might look so complicated but it is very simple. Every day, I personally am faced with decisions to make whether some big or small.
And one of the things I have noticed is the fact that in those decisions, I am to chose either right or wrong. Yes I have witness it several times that doing good sometimes is not always easy but one of the things that keeps motivating me is the fact that God sees everything and he is also concern about the choices I make daily.
The word of God made me to understand that we should not repay evil with evil but we should repay evil with Good. In Romans 12:21, it says, “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
Yes it is not easy because you actually needs to pray for your heart to be helped but we should have it at the back of our mind that whenever people hurt us or actually treat us unfairly, we should not repay it back with evil. Instead we should respond back in love, in patience and even in kindness. Yes it is not always easy but we just need to keep disciplining ourselves to make it happen.
I personally, I can testify that there are moments in my life that I even feel tempted to do what is evil. I mean what is wrong. But I always remember what the bible always say in the book of James 4 Vs 17, which says, “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
So in my own small way, I try to do good. It might not be easy but I have aways come to discover that at the end of the day, it is always worth it. In fact most of the time, doing good always bring this peace to your heart because I always feel calm deep within me whenever I do good.
