Faith in God provides a sense of purpose, hope and direction. One of the things that makes me feel good about God is the beauty and orderliness of the creation. I look at the sky, I look at the trees, I look at the oceans, I look at my body, and I say, "How could this be a coincidence? Psalm 19:1, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.” All around me is a testimony to the power of the Creator, and his wisdom in creating all things.
Another reason I feel confident of God is because of the peace He provides in times of tribulation. I sometimes feel unconfident in myself, sometimes I'm feeling weak, sometimes I'm feeling afraid, but when I pray I feel comfort in my heart. God gives strength that is more than man can give. “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God,” is the verse in the book of Philippians that we’ll look at today. That's the peace that I've personally had and it strengthens my faith.
I also believe in God because the Bible that he gave us is true and powerful. With the teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ, people are led to love, to forgive and to live a righteous life. John 14:6 says, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life.” God always speaks to my heart and corrects my life, when I read the Bible.
Lastly, I believe in God because of His love and mercy. God offers opportunities of repentance and change even when people have failed Him. I can feel how much God loves me, but I can't explain it. Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” For this reason, I grow in my faith in God every day.
