If there is something I have come to discover, it is the fact that staying healthy biblically should not be a function of grace but also our responsibility. Now when we talk about staying healthy, a whole lot of people always think it is about our body.
No it is not only limited to that, it also involves your mind, your heart and even your spirits. In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, it says, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit…? Therefore honor God with your bodies.
This means that how we actually treat our body really matters. What we eat, how we rest and even some harmful habits we avoid goes a whole long way to Matter. So this is not like we are just helping ourselves, it is really a way of honouring God.
When we talk about health in the bible, it means when our heart also have peace. I personally have come to a point whereby trusting God helps me to bring healing deep within me.
Proverbs 17:22 says, “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Whenever I chose to be thankful and also joyful to God even when I am facing hard times, it helps me to be strengthen deep within me. Much more than even medicine can be strengthen.
Now another aspect of staying healthy the bible talked about is the aspect of spiritual nourishments. The same way our body needs physical food to stay fit and healthy, same way our spiritual body needs spiritual food to stay fit and healthy. It is even found in God word.
In Matthew 4:4, it says, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Whenever we neglect the place of prayer, the place of reading the Bible and even the place of meditation? We might have high tendency to feel weak spiritually but as far as we are connected to God, we are always renewed.
