Life is a gift from God and I think its purpose for us is to know Him, love Him and do what He wants. There are people today looking for peace in money, fame, pleasure and worldly success, but there is only peace in God. Ecc 12:13 says, "Fear God and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. This verse is a reminder to me that my life is not random or unplanned. God created us to do something for a reason.
I ask myself at times why God let me be born now, in this world. My life is to glorify Him and I know this as I continue learning the word of God. God tells us in Isaiah 43:7, “I have created him for my glory. This is a very touching experience to me because I know my life isn't all about me. It is about serving God, helping others, showing love and being a light in this dark world.
At times I was unsure and concerned about my future. I would be happy if success is the only thing I get, but I realized that in my absence from God, nothing is complete. As I increased my prayer and studied His word, I realized the true purpose of life is to live in preparation for eternal life, and to be faithful to Him through all of life. In Matthew 6:33 Jesus states, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
I also feel we are supposed to be there to assist each other. God's desire for us is to be kind, forgiving, patient and loving. A good deed can reach someone's life at any point. As Christians, let us be models of faith and humility.
The conclusion is that life here is limited and the soul is everlasting. That is why I want to live my life for God and to do what makes Him happy. When it comes to living life, I am so thankful for His purpose in this world, I have hope, direction and peace in my heart.
