Death has touched every single life of a human being. When I think of people dying, and when I hear sad things, like I did with my loved ones, I have wondered why. It's sometimes difficult to comprehend. God's Word, however, taught me that sin brought death into the world. The Word of God says in Romans 5:12: “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin”. After Adam and Eve disobeyed God, death entered into human life. From then on everyone has had sadness, sickness, and death.
I am sometimes scared of death because it's what tears families apart and makes me cry. Even the rich, powerful and great die. Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” This verse is a reminder to me that life here is fleeting. We live in this world only a short while, and one day we will be in front of God.
Although death is painful, God did not abandon hope for man. It is this that gives my heart the greatest comfort. Jesus Christ came so that people may have eternal life. Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life, he that believeth in him shall never perish; (John 11:25). I sense peace in me when I read this verse. It makes me think of life after death and that death is not the end for us who believe in God.
I also think that knowing the cause of a person's death should make me value my life more, repent of sin and remain close to God daily. Life is brief, but God's word of life after death provides true hope.
