Greetings everyone, and welcome to my blog. It is another wonderful opportunity to listen to the word of God through His servant, Bro. Eli Soriano.
Greed is one of the greatest causes of suffering in the world today. Many people, especially those who are wealthy, focus only on accumulating riches for themselves and securing wealth for future generations, often ignoring the struggles of the poor around them.
This mindset is one of the main reasons the gap between the rich and the poor continues to widen. As Bro. Eli explained, the rich keep getting richer while the poor become poorer because of this self-centered pursuit of wealth.
Such greed has greatly contributed to the hardships humanity is facing. According to Bro. Eli, if even the richest individuals in the world would simply give the interest from their wealth to those in need particularly in places like Africa hunger and extreme poverty could be significantly reduced. Sadly, greed prevents many from extending such help, and as a result, suffering continues.
Furthermore, the desire for profit has led people to exploit natural resources irresponsibly. Trees are cut down without replanting, and the environment is damaged in the pursuit of wealth. This has resulted in disasters such as floods, landslides, and other calamities that affect the entire world.
In John 16:33, Jesus said, “In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Through this verse, we understand that trials are part of life. However, we are encouraged because Christ has already overcome the world, giving us hope and peace despite our struggles.
In conclusion, tribulation is a reality of life, and human greed has intensified many of the challenges we face. Yet, through faith in Christ, we can find strength and assurance even in difficult times.
