Good afternoon, brethren. I warmly greet everyone of us who are engaging with the word of God on this platform. It is not just about reflecting on the teachings of Bro Eli Soriano, it is the privilege of looking into the word of God daily. Many of us would not have gotten that opportunity to study the word of God, but we are doing this now because we are going to submit reflections for rewards. Well, in all things, reading or listening or writing about the word of God daily will make us get closer to God. And that is a good thing to happen to anyone.
The Bible talk about the Sabbath. Sabbath was introduced by God to the Israelites for them to rest. It is the day that God mandated for them to rest. You know that as humans, we do not just obey or do things easily. We always need enforcement. So, God making the Sabbath a law was to compel us to learn and accept to rest. When we consider the story of God's creations, we will discover that God rested on the seventh day of His creation work. That was an example which he lead down for us to follow. He was telling us that we should rest.
Talking about the real Sabbath, the real Sabbath is supposed to be the real rest. There is no rest for anyone in this world of several troubles. If you rest from work, what about the fears and anxieties created by an unsettled society? What about the several wars and terrorism in the world? What about the economic instability? Do these give anyone rest? Absolutely not! The only true rest is the one we have in Jesus Christ. It is those who are in Christ Jesus who have the real Sabbath experience.
