The Bible teaches that the purpose of our existence is to know God, love Him, and live according to His will. Human beings were created in God’s image to have fellowship with Him and to reflect His goodness on earth. In the book of Ecclesiastes, the Bible reminds us that true meaning in life is found in fearing God and obeying His commandments. Our lives are not accidents; God created each person with value and purpose.
Another purpose of life is to love and serve others. Jesus taught that the greatest commandments are to love God and love our neighbors as ourselves. Through kindness, forgiveness, humility, and compassion, believers show the character of Christ to the world. The Bible encourages us to use our gifts and abilities to help others and bring glory to God in all we do.
Finally, the Bible teaches that our existence is also connected to eternal life. Life on earth is temporary, but God desires people to prepare for eternity through faith in Him. When we live with faith, obedience, and hope in Christ, our lives gain lasting purpose beyond worldly success or possessions.
Romans 14:8 says, “If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord.”
