Showing love and care to a depressed teen is the best way to handle them. The bible tells us to love and care for one another most especially when they're facing challenges. Teens who feel depressed often need someone who will listen without judging them and remind them that they are not alone. God’s love is constant, even in moments of deep sadness, and helping them see their value in God’s eyes can bring hope.
Scripture reminds us that God is close to those who are hurting and understands their pain. As it is written,
Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit”
This truth can comfort teens by letting them know that their struggles are seen by God and that He cares deeply for them. Alongside prayer and encouragement, it is also important to guide them toward wise support, such as trusted adults or counselors, while reminding them that healing takes time and that God walks with them through every step.
