Hearing the words of God but not doing what it said is a total disobedience in the presence of God Almighty. Some people will hear the words of God in the church every Sunday yet their is still harden like stone. True listening in a biblical sense involves understanding, accepting, and applying God’s truth in daily life. When people only hear but do not act, they deceive themselves and miss the transformation God desires.
""Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says” (James 1:22).
From the words of Jesus those who hardened their hearts after listening to the words of may not see the Kingdom of heaven on the last day. A person may physically hear, but spiritual dullness blocks understanding and response. This condition leads to a life that does not bear fruit because God’s word is not allowed to take root.
Jesus said, “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand” (Matthew 13:13).
