The bible gave us a little description about human being in heaven, which means we are not supposed to be bothered with it. For example, it records that Enoch “walked with God, and he was not, for God took him” and that Prophet Elijah was taken up into heaven without dying. These accounts are often understood as special cases where God directly took certain people into His presence.
In the New Testament, Jesus Christ is central to the understanding of heaven. After His death and resurrection, Christians believe He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God. The Bible also speaks of believers who die in Christ being with the Lord, which is often interpreted as their spirits being present with God in heaven while awaiting the final resurrection.
The bible also teaches us that we can go to heaven after death and we pass through judgement. This means that while some may be in God’s presence now, the full bodily life in heaven is still a future promise for all believers. So, the Bible presents both a present reality of being with God after death and a future fulfillment when all things are made new.
