What I learnt from this Bible study
Here's my contribution to Today's Bible study, you can watch it on the link below;
Peace be unto us all Brethren, it's another wonderful time in God's presence to study his words from the Bible, we thank God for this Lovely opportunity he's given us to do so .
So we would start with an opening prayer to prepare us to receive the words of Christ;
Father God, we are Gathered again today to hear from you, please be with us as we study and please open our hearts, May your words enter the deepest part of our beings so we can apply them in our lives and fulfill the reason you've created us. We pray for Forgiveness of all our sins .
Thank you Father God for answered prayers, because we know you've heard us In the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ,we pray
Amen.
SO LET'S HAVE A RECAP OF WHAT WE'VE LEARNT SO FAR;
NOW WE KNOW THAT JESUS CHRIST WASN'T ACTUALLY BORN ON DECEMBER 25, THE Actual date of Christ's Birth is not known .The December 25 is just a Fable and we shouldn't believe in fables but in what the word of God says.
I learnt about a very interesting topic on Santa Claus and Catholic Christmas
In History, According to Catholic Encyclopedia, In about the year 330, however the Church in Rome assigned December 25 for the celebration in order to honour Christ,The Light of the world and the True son of God.
This was the day which had been dedicated in Pagan Rome to the feast of the sun god and had been called the "Birthday of the Unconquered Sun"
According to the Bible in Isaiah Ch 9:6-7
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
We see here that Prophet Isaiah, Prophecied about the birth of Jesus before he was even born ( In the old Testament)
Luke 1:26-36, we see here how the angel of God appeared to Mary the mother of Jesus, to tell her she'll birth the saviour. Isaiah's Prophecy came to pass
Luke 1:26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 1:27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. 1:29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 1:30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. 1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 1:36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
In the book of Luke 2:3-16, we see here how Jesus was born by the virgin Mary, God always keeps his Word.
Luke 2:3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 2:4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 2:5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 2:6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. 2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 2:9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 2:12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 2:13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. 2:15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. 2:16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
May the Eternal Love & Peace of God the Father and the Continuous Guidance of the Holy spirit rule and reign in our hearts forever and ever,Amen.
