Depression and anxiety are heavy experiences, and the Bible speaks to them with honesty and compassion. Many people in Scripture felt deep sadness, fear, and emotional tiredness, yet God did not turn away from them. The Bible shows us that feeling depressed or anxious does not mean a person is weak or faithless; it means they are human. God understands the weight people carry in their hearts, and He invites them to come to Him just as they are, even when they feel broken or confused.
The Bible teaches that one way to face depression and anxiety is by opening up to God in prayer and trust. Instead of keeping worries locked inside, Scripture encourages people to talk to God about everything that troubles them. In Philippians 4:6–7, we are reminded not to be consumed by worry but to bring our concerns to God in prayer, trusting that His peace can calm our restless hearts. This peace may not remove all problems at once, but it gives strength to keep going, even on difficult days.
