MCGI MASS INDOCTRINATION SERVICE DAY 12 HELD ON 1ST AUGUST, 2023
Greetings to all members of MCGI cares and hives in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I believe we all enjoyed our day. My name is Olu Thomas, and I will be highlighting my take from Day 12 of mass indoctrination.
MY TAKE
I learned a lot from our dear brother Eli concerning our lives in Christ and how God works in our lives to fulfill His ordinances and doctrines. I learned that we don’t just do the will of God; it is His goodness that triggers our inner being to start doing good and working by His words. Is not by our power or by our doing.
I was made to understand that the desires of all men are the desires of earthly treasures or things; the craving of every man is after the things of the world; some desire to own dream houses, then marry and give birth to children, while others their biggest dreams are to travel the world. But this is not what we are supposed to put our gaze upon; we need to crave things above our affections and desires should be on things above so that we can glory and please the Lord. We must seek the Lord because if we seek God, we will find Him. The moment we make up our minds that we want Him to reveal Himself to us and to know Him more, God is ever ready to accept us into Himself.
And I also learned that the moment you have the desires or you determine to follow Jesus, that is when the devil will start bringing hindrances and things that don’t matter just to distract you from the plans of God for your lives. Still, if we remain focused, the devil cannot prevail. We know that the devil will surely try to bring the church or the children of God down, but God promises us that the gate of hell shall not prevail over the church and we the church. and the more we remain focused and always seek the face of God, He will help us to overcome every temptation or hindrance that the devil will bring our way. The moment we want to come close to God or study the word, that’s when the devil will bring distractions our way.
I also learned about the parable of the sower that Jesus shared with His disciples and that is a part of our lives. We are to examine ourselves to know which one we belong to. We have seeds that the sower planted that fell by the wayside and fowls ate them up. The seed is the word of God, and we are the diverse land that the seed fell upon. We have four categories of the hearts of men. Some men received the word, but they didn’t take it seriously and continued with their way of life, while others fell upon stony places. These men received the word of God but didn’t study it to know more about it, and they didn’t live according to the word of God. Because they received the word and didn’t keep it in their hearts, they easily fell into Satan's trap, and they withered away by any wind because they were not deep in the word. While some men received the word of God, they didn’t stop their former way of life; they weren't ready to let go of their past, so they tried to join it together, which is not possible to serve two masters.
While the other categories of men are the ones that received the word, after they received it, they put it into practice by meditating on it, bringing forth results, and winning more souls to the kingdom of God. This category of people is not easily withered away because their foundation is strong and they rely on the word of the Lord.
I also learned that no matter how thick or dark my sins are, God will wash me white as snow if only I will come back to Him and acknowledge my sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive me and give me a bright new life. We should not think that our sins are so big that God cannot forgive us; there is no sin too big for God that he cannot forgive. If we come to Him with a broken spirit and heart, he will forgive us.
Thank you for going through my post. I am open to corrections and sharing more insight. Remain blessed, One Love.
