Christians in particular must always be knowledgeable of the future. Remember that the bible is not only a doctrinal book but a book of prophecy. What is the intent of prophecy according to the bible? John chapter 14 verse 29 says, and now I have told you before it come to pass that, when it is come to pass,ye might believe. Yes,there it goes. Prophetic pronouncements are made by the lord so that we may believe when it is fulfilled.
According to the lord jesus christ he said in John 14 verse 29 therefore, Christians are being told of future happenings or events before it happens. It will happen us knowledgeable of what is going to happen in the future. We do not just live day by day and expect anything to happen. We have the power,through God's help, to shape our future. It is recorded in the book of proverbs 16 verse 9 which says,A man's heart deviseth his way: but the lord directeth his steps. It is the heart of man that plans his ways, but it's the lord that direct his way. Therefore, we have power to devise,to plan and to think of what we are going to be in the future. And the lord God will direct our ways. Therefore, we do not just expect things to happen and believe in the saying that, come what may; No. A Christian is certain of his future. He know what is going to happen. Most of all, he knows what will be the end of his life on earth.
Firstly, we have to know that we are going to die. You have agree that we are going to die. Wherether we like it on not. Ecclesiastes 9 verse 5 says, For the living know that they shall die, but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward, for the memory of them is forgotten. The living know that they will die, but the dead knows nothing.
