Is engagement required before baptism?
Marriage must not hinder baptism, baptism is being recommended to a believer once he understood the teaching of the lord. Act chapter 22 verse 16 says, And now why tarriest thou? Arise, and the baptized and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the lord. Apostle paul from judaism realized that he was in a wrong religion he was called by the called lord jesus christ and the lord told him through against why tarriest thou arise be batpized. The did not say arise be married at once and then be baptized. Is it right for a man or a woman to get engaged before being baptized? whether you engage later or sooner or eariler when the call for baptism is needed than you must be baptized even without being engaged or married or what have the pastors of the born again movement they require marriage first before baptism and in this case it right for a man or a woman to get engaged before being baptized. What is the connection of being engaged to being baptized. Being baptized is to follow the will of God, being married or engaged is to follow the will of the flesh these are two different things. They are different because we you are marry a woman or a man if you are a girl, it means you are following the lust of the flesh, the will of your flesh.
1 Timothy 5 verse 11 says, but the younger windows, refuse for when they home begun to wax wanton against christ, they will marry.
