The question: Do we all believe in one God? is a significant subject of thought of many people. There are various religions and cultures in the world and individuals worship God through various ways.
The bible however explains clearly that there is only one real God who is the creator of heaven and earth. The Bible in Deuteronomy 6:4 states, Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord. This verse is a reminder of the fact that there is no plurality of God.
There are times that I think about this topic and then I come to know that there are a lot of people that say they believe in God, but their concept of him might be different. Others believe in idols, some believe in numerous gods and others do not know fully about the God as he is depicted in the bible.
However, the Scriptures lead us to understand who the true God is. God tells that there was no other God besides Him, that He is the Lord and none other in Isaiah 45: 5. This is a clear indication that God is one and should be worshipped.
The bible also teaches that this one God manifested Himself through His word and through his son, Jesus Christ. In John 17:3 Jesus said, And this is life eternal, that they may know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
Based on this verse, I realize that the knowing of the true God is very important towards our salvation. It is not merely about believing in God, but knowing God as per the truth, which is written in the Scriptures.
As a person, when I read these verses, I get the impression that the faith in one true God must drive us to lead a life of obedience and humility.
Through the faith we should respect Him with our actions and our faith in the case we have belief that there is only one God.
To close, the bible has the only true God as opposed to many individuals in the world, who have taught that they believe in God. Our duty is to find Him, know His word and worship Him with all our hearts.
It is through reading the Scriptures that we will be able to get to know the one true God who made us and wants us to adhere to His truth.
