The Bible teaches that salvation is a gift from God, not something we can earn by our own efforts. What we need first is faith in Jesus Christ believing that He is the Son of God who died for our sins and rose again. This kind of faith is not just words but trust from the heart, leading us to rely on Him for forgiveness and new life.
Ephesians 2:8 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”
Along with faith, the Bible calls us to repentance, which means turning away from sin and choosing to follow God’s ways. A changed heart produces a changed life, shown through obedience, love, and a desire to grow closer to God.
Romans 10:9 teaches, “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Salvation is therefore received by grace, through faith, and lived out in a life that seeks to honor God.
