Listening the to the words of God and obeying his commandment is all God wants from us, and that simply means we're obeying his will. Sometimes we might forget some of his will but the holy spirit will always remind us because his ways are good.
The Bible reveals to us several instances of obedience. Abraham had faith in God so much that he broke away from his home even when he did not know where he was going. Jesus is the supreme example for all. He complied with God entirely, even when it caused Him pain and suffering. It was through His obedience that God's plan to redeem the world was brought to fruition.
Disobeying God today means not obeying His word in the most basic ways. It means not praying, not choosing what is right, and being unkind to others. It also means not turning away from sin, even when it is hard. Disobedience is always very easy because it is opposite to good, but it takes us away from God. And in that distance, we lose peace and joy.
