Many people often wonder why good people suffer while those who do wrong seem to prosper. The Bible itself recognizes this question. In the Book of Psalms, the writer Asaph admitted he was troubled when he saw the prosperity of the wicked while the righteous struggled.
This shows that the issue is not new; even faithful servants of God in the Bible struggled to understand why life sometimes appears unfair. The Bible does not deny this reality but helps believers see it from a broader spiritual perspective.
One reason the Bible gives is that the world is currently affected by sin and imperfection. In the Book of Genesis, the fall of humanity introduced suffering, hardship, and injustice into the world. Because of this fallen condition, events do not always reflect God's perfect justice immediately. Good people may suffer because they are living in a broken world where sin influences human behavior and systems.
