The Bible teaches that intimacy is a sacred gift meant for marriage. Hebrews 13:4 says, “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure”, this shows that God designed sexual union to exist within the safety and commitment of marriage. Before marriage, such closeness may feel right emotionally but it often lacks the covenant that God intends to protect both individuals.
In many homes, we are taught discipline and respect for values. In the same way, God calls His children to self-control. 1 Corinthians 6:18 advises us to “flee from sexual immorality", this is not to punish us but to guide us away from pain, regret and brokenness that can come from acting outside His will.
Sleeping together before marriage can also affect trust and spiritual growth. When we choose obedience, we grow closer to God and build a stronger foundation for a future relationship.
Waiting is not weakness, it is wisdom and strength. The Bible encourages purity before marriage. God’s instructions are not to limit us, but to lead us into a life of peace, honor and lasting love.
