Dios nos deja un libro muy maravilloso como la Biblia, un libro muy poderos con historias fenomenales, en este caso quiero traerles la historia de betania un lugar muy frecuentado por Jesús para descansar, compartir con sus discípulos y amigos, espero que la disfruten y sea de su agrado.
God leaves us a very wonderful book like the Bible, a very powerful book with phenomenal stories, in this case I want to bring you the story of Bethany, a place frequented by Jesus to rest, share with his disciples and friends, I hope you enjoy it and that it is to your liking.
• Betania: En hebreo significa "Casa de frutos". Lugar de descanso y rehabilitación en el sendero, "casa acogedora", aunque también "casa de aflicción" (en griego). Aldea que formaba parte del sitio conocido con el nombre de Monte de los Olivos.
- Bethany: Hebrew for "House of fruit." Place of rest and rehabilitation on the path, "hospitable house," though also "house of affliction" (Greek). A village that was part of the site known as the Mount of Olives.
Betania era un lugar frecuentado por Jesús para descansar, compartir con sus discípulos y todos los amigos que amaba.
Allí vivían Maria, Marta y Lázaro, personas que no sólo amaban a Jesús sino que también eran muy amados por Él y ellos lo sabían.
Bethany was a place frequented by Jesus to rest, to share with his disciples and all the friends he loved.
There lived Mary, Martha and Lazarus, people who not only loved Jesus but were also very much loved by Him and they knew it.
Pero amar a Dios, ser amados por Él y vivir en Su amor no nos hace exentos de pasar por situaciones difíciles.
But loving God, being loved by Him and living in His love does not exempt us from going through difficult situations.
Ellas están confiadas y le mandan a decir a Jesús: Señor, el que amas está enfermo (V.-3)
La identidad de Lázaro era: Amado por Jesús, y sus hermanas lo sabían.
They are confident and send to Jesus saying: Lord, the one you love is sick (V.-3).
Lazarus' identity was: Loved by Jesus, and his sisters knew it.
Podían rogar, clamar por la sanidad de su hermano o lamentarse por lo que estaba ocurriendo pero no, sólo enviaron un mensajero para decirle a Jesús lo que estaba pasando.
They could beg, cry out for their brother's healing or lament what was happening but no, they just sent a messenger to tell Jesus what was happening.
• Probablemente ellas creerian que Jesús correría a ese lugar donde tantas veces le dieron refugio, comida, donde pasó tantos momentos agradables con sus amigos, pero tampoco fue así.
- They would probably believe that Jesus would run to that place where so many times he was given shelter, food, where he spent so many pleasant moments with his friends, but it was not like that either.
Estas hermanas se quedaron allí, sabiendo que Jesús les amaba pero sin una respuesta de Él, sin milagro y ahora con su hermano muerto.
These sisters stayed there, knowing that Jesus loved them but without an answer from Him, without a miracle and now with their dead brother.
Y muchas veces podemos estar en "Betania" sabiendo que Dios nos ama, nosotros amandole profundamente pero sin sentir Su presencia manifestada en nuestras vidas, sintiendo que el mundo se nos cae encima y llenos de tristeza.
And many times we can be in "Bethany" knowing that God loves us, we loving Him deeply but not feeling His presence manifested in our lives, feeling that the world is falling down on us and full of sadness.
Tal vez pensemos: Soy cristiano, hijo de Dios y sellado con el Espíritu Santo ¡No puedo sentirme así!
Perhaps we may think: I am a Christian, a child of God and sealed with the Holy Spirit I cannot feel like this!
• Ser hijos de Dios no nos exonera de momentos de tristeza ¡aunque sepamos que Dios va a obrar en medio de ello!
Hay algo interesante: Las hermanas no salieron de Betania, Jesús fue a su encuentro (V.- 11)
- Being children of God does not exempt us from moments of sadness, even if we know that God will work in the midst of it!
There is something interesting: The sisters did not leave Bethany, Jesus went to meet them (V.- 11).
• Estas hermanas conocían al que Era: si Él hubiese estado en Betania, Lázaro no hubiese muerto (V.- 21; 32).
• Conocían al que Ha de Venir: Sabían que Lázaro resucitaría cuando Jesús volviese a la Tierra (V.- 24)
These sisters knew the One Who Was: if He had been in Bethany, Lazarus would not have died (V.- 21; 32).
They knew the Coming One: They knew that Lazarus would rise again when Jesus returned to earth (V.- 24).
• Pero en ese momento no podían ver al que Es: Jesús les dice que Lázaro resucitará y no pudieron entender. (V.- 23)
- But at that moment they could not see the One Who Is: Jesus tells them that Lazarus will rise again and they could not understand (V.- 23).
¿Estamos pasando por un momento difícil, nos sentimos tristes y se nos dificulta ver a Dios en medio de ello?
Are we going through a difficult time, do we feel sad and find it difficult to see God in the midst of it?
Para pedir el gozo del Señor es necesario reconocer que estamos tristes, para recibir descanso es necesario reconocer que estamos cansados.
To ask for the joy of the Lord it is necessary to recognize that we are sad, to receive rest it is necessary to recognize that we are tired.
Venid a mí todos los que estáis trabajados y cargados, y yo os haré descansar.
Llevad mi yugo sobre vosotros, y aprended de mí, que soy manso y humilde de corazón; y hallaréis descanso para vuestras almas;
porque mi yugo es fácil, y ligera mi carga.
Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for your souls;
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Jesús HOY está intercediendo al Padre por nosotros, es momento de serle sinceros de cómo nos sentimos, lo que nos entristece y que así Él pueda obrar (Hebreos 7:25)
Jesus TODAY is interceding to the Father for us, it is time to be honest with Him about how we feel, what saddens us so that He can work (Hebrews 7:25).
Así como con María, Marta y Lázaro, Jesús no fue inmediatamente pero todo ese tiempo estuvo pensando en ellos, en cuánto los amaba, cómo se sentían y lo que Él iba a hacer.
Just as with Mary, Martha and Lazarus, Jesus did not go immediately but all that time He was thinking about them, how much He loved them, how they felt and what He was going to do.
• Hoy el Señor nos dice: Pueden que estés pasando por situaciones difíciles y ahora mismo sea difícil escucharme, pero eso no es para muerte sino para que Dios sea glorificado.
Recuerden que ustedes son amados, permanezcan en BETANIA
- Today the Lord tells us: You may be going through difficult situations and right now it is hard to listen to me, but that is not for death but so that God may be glorified.
Remember that you are loved, remain in BETANY.
