We are bound to encounter offenses in life. But as christians we are meant to forgive. Our hearts should be free of grudges. When we hold people in our hearts we are not pleasing God. Even though the person is not deserving of it we should still go ahead and forgive.
These are part of the things expected of us as christians. No one is saying would easy all the time, but nevertheless we should be able to let go.
If Christ was able to forgive us then we also should be able to forgive. If we should realize the number of times that we have gone against God in one way or the other we'd be amazed and wonder how come we are still standing. This is because God had pardoned is countless times and He expects that we do the same. That is why Jesus told Peter that is he is offended he should forgive the person seventy seven times.
