Life in this world is full of hardship and suffering. Most individuals feel pained, lost, ill, rejected, and poor. I tend to question myself at times why life is so challenging. We have learned in the bible that suffering entered the world as a result of sin (Romans 5:12).
The consequence of disobedience of God was pain and sorrow when man disobeyed God. This is not the ideal world anymore. This is why there are numerous issues around us at present.
But God did not abandon us without hope. The real answer to distress is to go back to God and have faith in His promises. Jesus said, in the world shall ye have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have conquered the world (John 16:33).
This verse gives me comfort. It helps me to remember that the meaning of suffering is not over. Our problems are too small to be compared with God.
According to the Bible, God lets you go through difficult times to make you have more faith. According to James 1:2-3, it is all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
I have come to know that in case I pray and trust God when I have challenges, my heart gets stronger. This type of suffering can teach us to be patient, humble, and to rely on God.
However, most importantly, the entire solution is the approaching Kingdom of God. It is stated in Revelation 21:4, the promise that,
And God shall wipe away all tears off their eyes, and there shall be neither death nor sorrow or crying. This gives true hope. One day, it will be over with the misery.
At least the response is faith, obedience, praying, and loving God. We do not lose peace when we are in distress because we obey the commandments of our God and we put our trust in Him. This world might be suffering but God holds the true hope and infinite solace.
God bless his word
Amen
