Drug addiction is a severe issue which kills lives, families and dreams. I have observed that it can turn one into a hopeless and a trapped person. However, I also think that through faith, encouragement and willpower, anyone is capable of overcoming this plight.
Accepting the fact that there is a drug problem is the initial step to drug addiction recovery. We cannot repair things when we refuse to admit that they are there. I understand that it is hard to confront the reality of our addiction but it has to be done.
We are reminded by the Bible, there, the Son sets us free and we are free indeed (John 8: 36). When we give God the chance to liberate us out of what holds us captives, then we will be free.
Faith and prayer are very crucial in recovery. Honesty with God about our plight can make us strong and bold. I have gotten to know that there is no problem too big to Him. Philippians chapter four verse thirteen states, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. In this verse it is evident that in cases where the temptation is great God can provide us with the power to resist.
Family, friends, and community support is also quite essential. The journey may be made easier by being around people who love and support us. We can also require professional assistance such as counseling or rehabilitation and there is no shame in seeking such assistance.
Lastly, a clean mind can make us remain clean by maintaining our minds to good habits and purpose. Reading the Bible, praying every day, and serving people can make our heart full of hope and prevent us against harmful things. Romans 12:2, states that, do not conform to this world, be transformed by renewing your mind.
Altering the thoughts alters our life.
Drug addiction can be overcome although it is not simple. Through prayer, support, and determination with the assistance of God I believe anybody can leave addictions in the past and live a meaningful life that is full of hope.
God bless his word
Amen
