A significant question that many people will tend to pose is: Is there a safeguard of sinners? This is the question all human beings are sensitive to, as we all know the fact that we all have erred. In the book of Romans 3: 23, it is clearly stated that, The Bible says, For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Whenever I read this verse, I think about the fact that there is not a single perfect person in the eyes of God. We all need His mercy.
According to the teachings that commonly feature in Members Church of God International (MCGI), God is just but also very merciful. Although, sinners cannot escape the judgment of God, he still grants them an opportunity to repent. In Ezekiel 18: 23 the Bible states; Have I any pleasure at all, that the wicked shall die: saith the Lord God: and not that he shall repent, and live? In this verse, we can see that God does desire that the sinners are reformed and lead a healthy life.
I also happen to feel that the biggest shield sinners have is repentance and obedience to God. God hearkens when an individual humbled himself before God and petitioned him to forgive him. We are advised through the Bible in 1 John 1:9, that, if we confess our sins, he is true and just to pardon us of our sins, and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness. This is the promise that offers hope to all the sinners that are willing to change.
Protection however does not imply that we can go on sinning without caring. The grace of God is no permit to sin. Proverbs 28: 13 states, he that veils his sins shall not succeed: but he that confesses and abandons them shall be spared. This teaches me that the true security lies in abandoning our sinful lives.
To sum up, yes, there is a safeguard to sinners but that is through repentance, humility, and faith with God. I think about this and understand that God is always willing to show mercy to those that are truly seeking him. Sinners have an appropriate chance to be safe, hopeful, and start a new life through His word and His forgiveness.
God bless his word
Amen
